Barcelona · Launching 2027

What your kid
outgrew, another
kid needs.

Outgrown is where parents in Barcelona pass on the clothes, toys, and gear their kids have moved past. No selling. No shipping. Just one family helping another.

The idea

Kids outgrow things in months, not years. A winter coat, worn one season. A wooden puzzle, mastered in a week. A pair of boots, suddenly too small.

Most of it is still good. Most of it shouldn't be wasted.

And somewhere on your block, there's a family whose kid is just about to need exactly what yours just outgrew

How it works

Three steps. No money changes hands.

i.

List what they've outgrown

Snap a photo, add a size and a few words. Thirty seconds. That's it.

ii.

Another parent claims it

Someone in your neighborhood whose kid is just about to need it sees your listing and asks.

iii.

Hand it over in person

Meet at school pickup, the park, a café. No shipping. No payment. Just a small handoff between families.

Why Outgrown

We built the thing
parents already do
but better.

Parents already pass things on. In school WhatsApp groups, on Buy Nothing pages, at the park gate. We took what works about those — and fixed everything else.

Why we built it

It started in a school WhatsApp group.

My son's school in Barcelona has an intercambio — a WhatsApp chat where parents pass on outgrown clothes and toys. It works. It just barely works. Things get buried. Items go to whoever happens to be online at the right second. There's no record of what's available or who claimed what.

But the underlying idea — parents helping parents, things kept in use, nothing thrown away that's still good — that idea is right.

Outgrown is the version of that group built properly. Bigger than one school, smaller than the whole internet. Local enough to meet at the park, large enough to actually find what your kid needs next.
